DECODO (SMARTPROXY)
ALTERNATIVE

Smartproxy is now Decodo. Same company, same network — so a Smartproxy comparison is a Decodo comparison.

If you are searching for a Smartproxy alternative: Smartproxy is now Decodo. The company rebranded on 22 April 2025 and smartproxy.com redirects to decodo.com. Same company, same network — so a comparison against Smartproxy is a comparison against Decodo.

Comparison data read from Decodo’s own pricing and product pages on 16 August 2026.

WHICH ONE YOU
ACTUALLY WANT

CHOOSE PROX’EASY IF…

  • You want to buy credit once rather than hold a monthly subscription.
  • You need dedicated 4G or 5G mobile IPs rather than rotating residential bandwidth.
  • You would rather read how the network behaves than infer it from a feature list.
  • Your usage is bursty enough that a recurring plan would mostly go unused.

STAY WITH DECODO IF…

  • You want a large, mature residential network with 50+ country-level gateway endpoints published.
  • You need their scraping APIs and site-specific tooling, not just proxy access.
  • You are already integrated — their legacy Smartproxy endpoints are documented as working indefinitely, so there is no forced migration pushing you to move.
  • Your volume is steady enough that a monthly per-GB ladder with volume discounts beats one-time credit.

PROX’EASY VS
DECODO

Structural differences only. Decodo’s published rates are promotional and quoted excluding VAT, so a per-GB figure printed here would be both stale and incomplete.

Prox’Easy compared with Decodo on name, billing model, legacy endpoints, mobile proxies, auth, as of 16 August 2026.

How we compared: every Decodo row was read from their own pricing and product pages on 16 August 2026 and describes what those pages state. We have not benchmarked their network, and we do not publish performance numbers for a competitor we cannot test under controlled conditions — here is why, and how we measure our own.

SWITCHING WITHOUT
REWRITING ANYTHING

Both are standard HTTP proxies taking username/password or IP whitelisting, so the change is the endpoint and your credentials. Note that Decodo encodes sticky sessions in the port (10001–49999 on the same host) where we use a username suffix (user-session-abc123-lifetime-10m) — so if you rely on sticky sessions, that is the part to map across rather than copy.

SWITCHING
QUESTIONS

Is Smartproxy the same as Decodo?

Yes. Smartproxy rebranded to Decodo, publicly launching on 22 April 2025, and smartproxy.com issues a redirect to decodo.com. Their own rebrand page states that Decodo operates only under decodo.com and decodo.cn. If you are comparing providers against "Smartproxy", you are comparing against Decodo.

Do old Smartproxy endpoints still work?

Yes, and this is worth knowing before you switch anything. Decodo’s rebrand FAQ commits that Smartproxy endpoints will keep working indefinitely, with "no plans ever to deprecate them". So the rebrand alone is not a reason to migrate — if your integration works, nothing is forcing you to touch it.

What is the best Decodo alternative?

Depends which part you are replacing. For rotating residential bandwidth on a monthly plan, most large providers are close substitutes and the deciding factor is billing shape. For dedicated mobile IPs, you need a provider that sells them — that is a different category rather than a cheaper version of the same one.

Decodo vs Prox’Easy on billing?

Theirs is a monthly per-GB subscription with volume discounts, quoted excluding VAT. Ours is a one-time purchase of credit that does not expire. Steady high volume favours a subscription ladder; irregular or seasonal work favours credit you can leave sitting. Neither is universally cheaper and we are not going to publish a per-GB comparison that stops being true.

How do I migrate from Decodo?

The connection change is small — both take username/password or IP whitelisting over standard HTTP. The part that needs attention is sticky sessions: Decodo assigns them by port on the same gateway host, in the 10001–49999 range, while we set them with a username suffix (user-session-abc123-lifetime-10m). Map that logic across rather than copying the port numbers.
